We utilize leading-edge media strategies to combat dangerous disinformation, drive action-taking, and increase diverse participation in the democratic process.

JOB SUMMARY
The Global Director of Marketing (GDM) at ACE is an essential part of ACE’s Growth and Digital Team, leading all aspects of ACE’s global strategic communications, digital advertising, and creator marketing strategies. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the geopolitics of climate change, energy markets, and global marketing strategies, as well as an extensive network of trusted consultants and marketing agencies with whom they’ve worked.
The GDM will work across teams to build high-impact, high-scale digital campaigns to 1) shift public opinion away from fossil fuels, and 2) accelerate the deployment of decarbonized energy, industry, transport and jobs. The GDM will lead global outreach with vendors, partners and consultants in three predetermined global markets of UK, South Africa and Brazil, lead the development of ACE’s global creator community, design and execute highly-effective campaigns to achieve our goals, and work with ACE’s Research and Experimentation Team to monitor, evaluate and improve our offerings.
This is a full-time position, anywhere in the world. Candidates must be willing to work a consistent 8-hr work day, during a slot of their choosing, within the hours of 9am Eastern Time to 8pm Eastern Time. Employment will be contracted by an employer of record with benefits, as stipulated by the needs and law of the country of residence for non-US candidates. The GDM will work from home, meet as required by video chat with teams, and have weekly national full staff meetings with colleagues online. Travel will be required when safe to relevant events, staff retreats, and other convenings as needed.
The GDM reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and will manage all aspects of our global strategic communications efforts, including but not limited to: creative strategy, creator marketing, vendor management, and digital/out-of-home/print advertising. Strong candidates will bring a breadth and depth of experience in digital advertising, media, brand management, and communications. Additionally, the GDM will lead the design and launch of ACE’s global creator community, working in partnership with in-country ACE Marketing Directors in our regions of focus. The GDM will oversee global creator recruitment, community management, and professional development.
The GDM will ensure ACE’s global marketing efforts are highly-scalable, effective and cost-efficient—all while delivering highly-engaging, shareworthy content aligned with ACE’s campaigns in the region. The GDM will be managed through an in-country Employer of Record in the country they reside and the position has a term of one year through December 31, 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management
- Lead all aspects of ACE’s global marketing strategy, development, and execution to achieve ambitious climate, clean energy and policy goals in our regions of focus.
- Collaborate on strategic planning and implementation with the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, and other team leads, as well as the organization’s Growth and Digital, Data, and Research and Experimentation Teams
- Coordinate the day-to-day management of in-country ACE Marketing Directors by overseeing team members’ work planning and professional development; managing the team’s budget and general administration, including tracking team products and progress toward goals; and assisting with grant reports where needed
- Effectively leverage communications, campaigns, and digital advocacy tactics in pursuit of policy and public opinion goals that are aligned with ACE’s overall strategy in each region of focus.
- Digital Marketing Strategy and Oversight
- Direct all marketing activities in partnership with in-country ACE Marketing Directors, including but not limited to: digital advertising, creator marketing, list building and management, out-of-home advertising, print advertising and other verticals as they arise
- Draft and/or maintaining editorial oversight of: messaging guidance, creator marketing collateral, internal and external talking points, micro- and long-form video content, events, digital media, and all other aspects of outward facing marketing collateral.
- Develop strategies to drive a narrative around the successful scaling of decarbonized energy, industry, transport and jobs in our regions of focus
- Effectively leverage communications, campaigns, and digital advocacy tactics in pursuit of policy and public opinion goals that are aligned with ACE’s overall strategy in each region of focus.
- Follow local, national and global political and policy conversations, and make strategic recommendations for ACE’s engagement. Set and execute rapid-response research priorities in response to breaking news and significant moments surrounding climate action, clean energy, clean jobs, environmental justice, and fossil fuel accountability.
- Community Management and Partnerships
- Drive ACE’s engagement with diverse coalitions, partners, vendors, and consultants, and build strong and trusted relationships with key partners while achieving demonstrable progress toward ACE priorities.
- Oversee the scaling of our global creator community and create a strong sense of community across countries and within the regions of focus with frequent virtual meetups, learning opportunities, and professional development.
- Data Reporting and Analysis.
- Organize and compile data, analyze it, and report back individual and aggregate performance across our regions of focus, with suggestions on how to improve performance, and generate deeper impact.
- Work closely with our Head of Research and Experimentation and external partners to routinely test and evaluate our efforts to ensure we are having the intended impact that we seek.
- Partner with our Data Team to generate and analyze reports and dashboards for tracking all stages of the marketing funnel, and be able to identify critical chokepoints to enhance effectiveness and scalability.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years demonstrated experience working globally in marketing, digital advertising, or the creator economy with a management company or agency (preference for experience working in: UK, South Africa, and Brazil)
- Experience executing marketing campaigns on a global scale with a deep, hands-on expertise in running digital advertising campaigns, leading organic social media activities, or directing out-of-home, print, or influencer marketing campaigns within a cross-cultural environment
- Experience with social listening and market research tools like Kantar, Meta Brand lift studies, GrowProgress, Sprinklr, NWO.ai, or others
- Experience having led or had a substantial substantive role in global climate campaigning, including: strategic communications, digital advertising, media, or other aspects of the work
- A wide-ranging knowledge of global climate change movements, policy, and the geopolitics of energy
- Experience working in coalitions towards shared objectives and collective impact
- A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work in cooperative and collaborative environments.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Candidates must be fluent in English with special preference for multilingual candidates with fluency in Brazilian Portuguese, Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans, Spanish, French, or Hindi
- Excellent technological skills and technical fluency required, including experience working with: Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Salesforce or other CRM systems, Learning Management Systems, ESPs, websites, social media advertising platforms (e.g. Meta: Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc…)
- Comfortable working any consistent daily 8-hour shift between the hours of 9am to 8pm Eastern Time
- Ability to manage multiple projects with thoroughness, accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism
- Collaborative and communicative work style to work with colleagues in all teams across ACE
- Strong organizational and time management skills

POSITION DETAILS
- Temporary through Dec 2026
- Open to all candidates with preference to US, Canada, UK, South Africa, and Brazil
- Annual salary range for US candidates: $92,000 - 115,000, commensurate with experience
