JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Digital Marketing will work to advance ACE’s mission through the strategic deployment of large-scale and high-impact campaigns. The Senior Director of Digital Marketing will work to implement, test, and scale ACE’s digital marketing strategy in our key states, nationally and globally.
Responsibilities will encompass coordinating a variety of digital marketing efforts including strategic content solutions, paid digital and programmatic advertising, Out-of-Home (OOH), organic social media, print, and digital media content creation. The goal is to orchestrate and manage robust digital marketing campaigns across diverse channels and owned subsidiaries. TheSenior Director of Digital Marketing will further hone strategies to enhance in-list growth, employ retargeting techniques for multiple white-label brands/entities, and utilize digital and social advertising platforms like Meta, TikTok, Twitch, StackAdapt, and YouTube. Innovative marketing tactics will be deployed to optimize outcomes, foster brand loyalty, educate and persuade audiences, and in some cases drive action taking at scale.
In this position, the Senior Director of Digital Marketing will work to strengthen ACE’s role and impact in advocating for an end to the era of fossil fuels, accelerating a swift and equitable transition to renewable energy, and work toward an increase in diverse youth participation in our democracy as well as devise creative strategies to inoculate persuadable audiences for ACE’s current and future white label entities. This is a future-facing role for an integrated marketing strategist who thrives at the convergence of digital innovation, social-first storytelling, and data-driven campaign performance.
The position requires frequent travel within/to the United States and potentially to other countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary custodian of all owned and paid marketing initiatives at ACE. Strategic guidance and direction on integrated social media management for ACE and ACE-owned current and future white labels
- Oversee timely and correct creation of digital and social advertising campaigns, including targeting and creative; learn and implement ACE’s processes and procedures for paid campaigns; optimize target audiences and develop methodologies to find new audiences.
- Manage campaigns, messaging, audiences, ads, tracking assets, and processes across platforms. Collaborate with the wider team to advance marketing and growth goals across the organization, including:
- ACE - Voter Registration
- Siting and Permitting
- Clean Energy Acceleration
- IRA Defense and clean energy retail-side uptake
- Clean workforce development
- Existing and new white labels
- Provide leadership and manage a fast-paced digital marketing team that includes a Digital Director, Paid Media Associate Director, an Ads Manager, and other lateral collaborators.
- Ensure cross-channel advertising data is flowing correctly into data dashboards; review ad spend, lead data and ensure regular optimization on both targeting and/or creative based on data; develop new ways to look at ads data to improve efficiency.
- Build knowledge of digital tools and platforms available to ACE to ensure their expanded use (e.g. Monday.com, Engaging Networks, SEMcasting, etc.).
- Conduct background research and create content briefs, including creative and copy recommendations for national and state-based campaigns across all channels; support the development of ads content as needed; stay on top of changing technical specifications and keep key personnel informed.
- Support the development team with funder collateral, including campaign impact reporting (both written and verbal in meetings), as well as pitching campaigns and answering technical paid media inquiries for fundraising.
- Coordinate with the communications team on compliance while working on programmatic campaign and ensure appropriate activity c3 vs. c4 state filing
- Ensure cross-functional support for marketing initiatives to help grow our persuasion power and list growth, convert our Youth Action Network into socio-political power to speed up the energy transition at scale.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in the digital marketing or digital organizing field including managing organic and paid social campaigns.
- Expertise in developing, overseeing, and assessing advertising campaigns using Meta Ads Manager, TikTok, Google Ads, and programmatic and OOH (Out-of-Home) advertising.
- Experience working with Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, and other event tracking mechanisms.
- Strong expertise in influencer marketing and marketing across cultures
- Strong analytical skills with ability to set priorities, complete work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and creativity.
- Awareness of the issues of concern to young people, including climate change and climate justice, and a passion for empowering youth to take action.
- Strong copywriting experience and deep understanding of effective social media storytelling
- SEO/SEM experience is a plus.
- Wordpress experience is a plus.
POSITION DETAILS
- Annual salary range: $105,000-115,000, commensurate with experience
