Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to educating and activating millions of young people to end the era of fossil fuels, accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, and ultimately avoid the worst impacts of the climate emergency. ACE works at the nexus of youth, media and civic engagement to accelerate our pathway toward a decarbonized world. We reach tens of millions of people with our programs each year and are driving a new climate narrative to engage audiences that our movement has yet to reach. We utilize leading-edge media strategies to combat dangerous disinformation, drive action-taking, and increase diverse participation in the democratic process.

JOB SUMMARY

The Creator Marketing Associate will help to devise and execute large-scale influencer marketing campaigns and source video content via our in-house team. This position will be crucial in helping to move our large marketing investment away from social media corporations like Meta and Google, and into the hands of our key stakeholders— young people. 

This role will help channel the voice of the people, empowering them to inspire others and society at large to act on the climate emergency. 

This is a full-time position based remotely anywhere in the US. The Creator Marketing Associate will work from home, meet weekly by video chat with teams, and have weekly national full staff meetings with colleagues online. The Creator Marketing Associate must be available for regular travel within the United States.

 

MAJOR FUNCTIONS 

  • Manage large-scale influencer campaigns from start to finish, including influencer search, outreach, content review, payment, and reporting.
  • Write strong and humorous campaign briefs that take complicated topics or actions and distills them in order for content creators to successfully produce microvideos that are simultaneously accurate, educational, and entertaining for people to watch.
  • Source video content from sources other than influencers (UGC, renewable energy professionals, farmers, etc).
  • Negotiate content creator rates and paid usage rights for video content.
  • Use in-list, organic search, and paid outreach methods to identify and recruit content creators, while applying an equity lens.
  • Manage our internal pathways, keywords, tracking links, and data dashboards to measure campaign success.
  • Simultaneously manage a large number of relationships with content creators and their managers/agencies.
  • Pitch innovative campaign ideas internally and externally to our partners.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building processes and systems: Manage and improve a highly scalable system that guides content creators through content creation all the way to payment.
  • Campaign strategy: Distill campaign talking points into successful creator campaigns that earn high organic reach and are persuasive.
  • Digital engagement and outreach: identify and communicate with creators/agencies and other subjects to get high quality content made within agreed upon timelines.
  • Creator support: Vet, edit, and provide actionable feedback on scripts and video content from creators.
  • Stay updated: Keep on top of pop culture references and trends within the short-form video ecosystems like TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for this role will be excited to take on a challenge, self-motivated with oodles of initiative and persistence, and have the following experiences and skills sets. Great candidates will have some of the experience and skills listed below.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • You have run some or all of the elements of an influencer marketing campaign.
  • You are a talented copywriter, capable of designing clever and humorous campaign briefs.
  • You have a rigorous attention to detail and a strong instinct for content review on what is appropriate content. This would include looking for profanity or other age-appropriate issues, fact-checking statistics, and making sure that all content is non-partisan (since ACE is a registered 501c3 non-profit).
  • You are organized, able to prioritize daily tasks, and stay on top of several projects at the same time.
  • You are committed and able to perform online research in creative and alternative ways.
  • You thrive in a fast paced agile organization, where we are trying out new ideas, building out new processes, and growing rapidly in data complexity.
  • You care deeply about the environment and you are connected with trends and issues relevant to a youth audience.
 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using influencer management software like HypeAuditor, Upfluence, Creator IQ, or Aspire.
  • Existing expertise or willingness to master trends in climate education, geo-politics, energy transition and social media misinformation
  • Existing interest, expertise, and willingness to master social media trends.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Communication skills in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills (Google Suite).
  • Basic video editing skills.
  • We have no formal education requirements.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Annual salary range:  $60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience
